Overview

The Indian Air Force invites ONLINE applications from unmarried male Indian citizens and Gorkha (subjects of Nepal) from all States and Union Territories for the selection test starting 29 September 2025 to join as Airmen in the Group 'Y' Medical Assistant trade for Intake 02/2026. Applications must be submitted online at airmenselection.cdac.in from 11 July 2025 to 31 July 2025. The selection process is fair, transparent, and based on merit only. Candidates should not pay bribes or fall prey to unscrupulous persons posing as recruiting agents.

Note: This selection test is not for Commissioned Officers, Pilots, Navigators, or Agniveervayu.

Eligibility Criteria

General Eligibility

  • Nationality: Male Indian citizens or Gorkha (subjects of Nepal)
  • Marital Status: Unmarried
  • Date of Birth: Born between 02 July 2004 and 02 July 2008 (both dates inclusive)
  • Age Limit (as on enrollment date):
    • 10+2/Intermediate or equivalent: Maximum 21 years
    • Diploma/B.Sc in Pharmacy: Maximum 24 years

Educational Qualification

  • 10+2/Intermediate or Equivalent: Passed with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English from a recognized Education Board (Central, State, or UT) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English
  • Two-Year Vocational Course: Passed with non-vocational subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English) from a recognized Education Board with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English
  • Diploma/B.Sc in Pharmacy: Passed 10+2/Intermediate or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English, plus a Diploma/B.Sc in Pharmacy from an institution recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI)

Notes

  • Only Education Boards recognized by Central, State, or UT are permitted.
  • Exact aggregate percentage (e.g., 49.9% is not rounded to 50%) is considered as per the rules of the concerned Education Board.
  • Diploma/B.Sc in Pharmacy must be recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India.

Mandatory Medical Standards

  • Weight: Proportional to height and age as per IAF standards
  • Chest: Minimum circumference of 77 cm with at least 5 cm expansion
  • Hearing: Normal hearing, able to hear forced whisper from 6 meters with each ear separately
  • Dental: Healthy gums, good set of teeth, minimum 14 dental points
  • General Health: Normal anatomy without loss or deformity of appendages; free from active or latent, acute or chronic, medical or surgical disabilities or communicable diseases

Candidates must meet all medical standards to be eligible for service in the Indian Air Force.

For Online Application

  • Passport-size photograph (scanned, clear)
  • Signature (scanned)
  • 10+2/Intermediate or equivalent marksheet and certificate
  • Vocational course certificate (if applicable)
  • Diploma/B.Sc in Pharmacy certificate (if applicable, recognized by PCI)

For Verification

  • Original and four self-attested photocopies of Discharge Certificate (if discharged from Indian Army, Navy, or other Government organization)
  • Original NCC Certificate (if applicable, with serial number, round seal, stamp of issuing authority, and attested photograph)
  • Original photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, etc.)
  • Original educational certificates and marksheets

Important Note

Candidates must possess all required documents during verification. The name, parent's name, and date of birth on the discharge certificate must match the application details. False or incorrect information may lead to cancellation of candidature.

  3. Upload scanned passport-size photograph and signature
  4. Upload required educational certificates
  5. Submit application by 31 July 2025 (8:00 PM)

Selection Procedure

  • Online Written Test: Objective-type test starting from 29 September 2025
  • Physical Fitness Test (PFT): Details to be announced on the official website
  • Medical Examination: Conducted as per IAF medical standards
  • Document Verification: Verification of eligibility and submitted documents
